  Hopewell Lake at French Creek State Park
Hopewell Furnace [Right] -- National Historic Site is one of the finest examples of rural American 19th-century iron plantation. Established in 1771; it is surrounded by French Creek State Park which preserves the lands the furnace utilized for its natural resources. Activites and programs offered throughout the summer demonstrate iron making techuniques, blacksmithing, charcoal making, baking, farming, spinning, weaving and other historic trades.
